Cogent Staffing
Cogent Staffing are recruiting for experienced Industrial Sewing Machinists for our Halifax based client, on a temporary to permanent basis. It is essential you have experience doing a similar role and can confidently operate both flatbed and overlocker sewing machines.
Shift/salary:
- Monday to Friday – days
- Earlier finish Fridays
- £12.50 per hour
- Ongoing, temporary to permanent role
- Immediate starts available following successful skills test
The role:
- Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts
- Interpret technical drawings to determine machining procedures
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality
- Perform routine maintenance on machines
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve production processes
- Help with other duties as and when needed i.e. packing, assembly etc.
The candidate:
- Proven experience as a Machinist or similar role
- Proficiency in operating sewing machines, flatbed and overlocker
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools and their applications would be beneficial, not essential
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with warehouse operations is a plus
