Cogent Staffing is seeking a highly motivated Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a leading manufacturer. This key role involves ensuring the production facility operates at maximum efficiency and output.

Shift/salary:

  • £40,000-£43,500 depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm (cover for night shift when required)
  • Reports to: Engineering Maintenance Manager
  • Permanent role

Role summary:

You will be responsible for maintaining all machines safely and efficiently, complying with relevant legislation. This includes participating in operational projects, carrying out maintenance checks, and performing day-to-day repairs and improvements. You will handle breakdown resolution, planned preventative maintenance, and work collaboratively with the production team to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Address machine breakdowns to maximize throughput and meet customer demand.
  • Perform reactive, proactive, and planned maintenance across a wide range of factory equipment.
  • Maintain site services and facilities.
  • Focus on cost-saving measures in maintenance work and contribute to cost reduction initiatives.
  • Plan and manage individual and team projects.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, including
  • ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong practical and legal knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering/maintenance.
  • Level 3 electrical engineering qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of extrusion, mixing, and blending machines is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to apply techniques of Planned Preventative Maintenance to improve machine condition and reduce downtime.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
