Cogent staffing our recruiting for a Traffic planner / Clerk on behalf of our client based in Welshpool. The role of Transport Planner will be on a permanent basis offering an immediate start working on an afternoon shift.

- 19:00pm up to 21:00pm)
Responsibilities will include:
- Route Planning.
- Ensuring vehicles are running to capacity and reducing empty running.
- Actioning any defects.
- Emailing customers with collection times/delays.
- Booking deliveries.
- Providing the highest level of customer care.
- Building good working relationships internally and externally.
- Debriefing Drivers on return.
- Effective time management to ensure the job is completed within the set time frame provided.
Skills required:
- Previous experience as a Transport Planner or Traffic Clerk, alternatively experience in an operational role within logistics or haulage is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
- An understanding of compliance within the transport industry.
- Experience in planning multiple delivery schedules.
- Knowledge of safety and legal compliance.
- Ability to build positive working relations with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- IT literate (Including working knowledge of MS and Excel).
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines within a busy transport office.
- Good analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
