Cogent Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a global manufacturing and distribution company based in Elland for a Shipping Administrator.

Salary/package:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00
  • £31,000 – £37,000 dependent on experience – must have supervisory or managerial experience to be considered for the higher range.
  • This is a temporary ongoing role (there is possibility of a permanent contract for the right person).

The role:

  • Create Certificates of Origin in the Chamber of Commerce portal.
  • Prepare documentation for customer and customs clearance.
  • Share shipping schedules and vessel details with customers.
  • Upload and send shipping documents using the CARGOX platform for business in Egypt.
  • Produce invoices and packing lists, coordinating UK logistics for deliveries to international consolidators.
  • Liaise with customers on Ex Works collections, providing necessary details.
  • Chase non-standard documents, such as pallet fumigation statements.
  • Possibly process haulier purchase orders for invoices.
  • Investigate errors in orders.
  • Enter orders in F&O.

The candidate:

  • A keen interest in logistics and international shipping.
  • Some experience in shipping, logistics, or a related field
  • Ideally has supervisory or managerial experience in a similar capacity.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence in using MS Office
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with customers and suppliers.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and platforms (experience with CARGOX is a plus).
  • Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or related fields is preferred.
