Cogent Staffing are recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Manager to be a crucial part of our client’s team.
Salary:
£35,000-£40,000 depending on experience
In order to be considered for the higher salary you must have minimum 5 years experience in a similar role and industry (manufacturing/service/fitting)
Full time role
07:30-16:30 Monday to Friday
Role Overview:
As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a key role in managing procurement processes, ensuring that you source high-quality materials and components while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. You will work closely with production and fitting teams to meet clients’ needs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with business goals and support manufacturing and fitting operations.
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best prices, terms, and quality of materials.
- Maintain and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess.
- Collaborate with the production and fitting teams to forecast material requirements and manage lead times.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
- Prepare and manage purchasing budgets, ensuring cost-effective procurement practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering a culture of collaboration and mutual benefit.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, enabling effective inventory and cost management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
