Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our High Wycombe based client for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer with experience in fire extinguisher systems to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis. Leaders in their industry, it is essential any applicant has a good understanding of supplying fire prevention services and alarm/extinguisher installations, repair and servicing.

Salary/package:

  • Alarm Engineer £32,000-£37,000
  • In order to be considered for the higher salary you must have minimum 5 years experience within a similar role
  • Senior Engineer £35,000-£40,000
  • In order to be considered for the higher salary you must have minimum 7 years experience within a similar role
  • Core hours 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday
  • 1 in 3 weekends on call required, rota basis
  • Call out bonus for any on call services required
  • Vehicle provided by company
  • Permanent placement

The role:

  • Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm systems
  • Conduct inspections and testing of fire extinguishers and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their fire safety needs
  • Ensure compliance with local and national fire safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
  • Work mainly around the High Wycombe area (30-40 mile radius), on occasion travelling as far as the West Country to clients based there
  • Occasional overnight stays required, premium paid
  • Working on several systems including but not limited to Notifier

The candidate:

  • Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer, with a strong background in fire extinguishers
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and relevant codes
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET, FIA) are a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client site (clean licence preferred for insurance purposes but up to 6 points SP30 only can be worked with)
