We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating CNC Milling machines. This role involves producing precision components and ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process. The CNC Miller will work closely with engineering and production teams to assemble parts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Shift/salary:
- Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday only
- Hours 06:00-14:30
- Permanent role working with the company from day 1
- £14.00 per hour
The role:
- Operate CNC Milling machines to produce components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models, utilising SolidWorks as necessary.
- Set up tooling and fixtures for machining processes, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform quality checks on finished products using basic maths for measurements and tolerances.
- Collaborate with team members to assemble components, ensuring accuracy in fabrication.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic maintenance as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the training of new staff members on CNC operations and safety protocols.
The candidate:
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Heidenhein software is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in CADCAM software is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Basic maths skills for precise measurements and calculations.
- Experience in warehouse operations or assembly processes is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
