Fabricator

Cogent Staffing are recruiting for Fabricators for our client based in Todmorden, on a temporary contract. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a metalwork/fabrication shop, ideally with MIG welding and tacking.

Shifts & salary:

• Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.30pm, 3.30pm finish on Fridays
• £13 – £14 an hour depending on experience and skills

Duties

• Working with light sheet metal, primarily mild steel, as well as stainless and aluminium.
• Prepare and set up materials for MIG welding and tacking.
• Carry out general fabrication work as required, using a range of tools and equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, making adjustments as necessary.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues during the welding process.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a welding/fabrication role, ideally with light sheet metal.
• Previous MIG welding and tacking experience.
• Ideally local to Todmorden.
• Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
• Ability to use hand tools effectively for various tasks related to assembly and fabrication.
