Cogent Staffing
Cogent Staffing are recruiting for Grinder/Fabricators for our client based in Todmorden, on a temp to perm basis, with a permanent position available after 12 weeks. The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a metalwork/fabrication shop, ideally with grinding tools and equipment.
Shifts & salary:
- Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.30pm, 3.30pm finish on Fridays
- £13 – £14 an hour depending on experience and skills
Duties
- Operate grinding machines to achieve exact specifications for metal and other materials, ensuring high-quality finishes and tolerances.
- Prepare and set up materials for grinding processes, including measuring, marking, and cleaning to maintain work area efficiency.
- Carry out general fabrication work as required, using a range of tools and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, making adjustments as necessary.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues during the grinding process, collaborating with team members to implement effective solutions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, including proper handling and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a fabrication role, ideally in a metal fabrication shop.
- Previous grinding or abrasive wheel experience.
- Ideally local to Todmorden.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for various tasks related to assembly and fabrication.
- Experience in grinding processes for finishing components
