Cogent Staffing are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client based in Flanshaw, Wakefield. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of machinery, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues.

Shifts & salary:

  • Full time permanent position
  • Full time hours Monday to Friday
  • 8am – 5pm
  • 3pm finish on Fridays
  • £32,000 – £45,000 DOE

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on metal pressing machinery and production line equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to achieve desired product specifications.
  • Perform basic electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Diagnose and fix electrical issues related to machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Report any major issues or potential improvements to the management team.
  • Keep track of spare parts inventory and order replacements as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in safety training and initiatives.

Key requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer.
  • Experience with metal pressings and related machinery.
  • Basic electrical training and knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
