Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our Halifax based client for an experienced Wood Machinist to join them on a temporary to permanent basis. It is essential you have experience operating CNC machinery as part of the manufacturing process.
Shift/salary:
- Monday to Friday
- 08:00-16:30
- £14.00 per hour
- Weekly pay
- Temporary to permanent opportunity
The role:
- To use specialist CNC machinery on secured works orders.
- Must be able to understand production schedules and technical/construction/assembly drawings.
- Must have a clear understanding of raw materials including properties and applications.
- Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding and usage of computer programmes relating specifically to the CNC machines.
- Be fully aware of the type of cutters required to suit the best application for the works in hand.
- Work area must be kept clean & tidy & free of clutter.
- Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation and company guidelines.
- To provide a service to clients and maintain a good customer relationship as a priority.
- To act at all times as a representative of the department and ensure that the customer is completed satisfied.
- Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the post including objectives as required by Management (appropriate to the level of the post).
- Ensure work is produced to a level that is in accordance with company quality standards.
- Receive direct instruction from Line Manager & Senior Management.
- Work additional hours as and when required to suit work order levels as deemed necessary to fulfil company requirements.
The candidate:
- Must have time served in a similar role i.e. CNC Operator/Wood Machinist
- Has proven experience of time served working specifically with wood
- Can commute to the Halifax area for the shift times outlined above
- Is looking for a full time and permanent role
- Is reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Is open to picking up overtime hours as required and to support through finishing works orders during peak periods
- Ideally can start ASAP
