Job Description:

Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our Immingham based client for an Import Operator on a permanent basis. Join a dedicated Import Team and play a key role in delivering seamless cargo operations and exceptional service to global customers.

Shift/salary:

  • Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 17:00 (with a 1-hour lunch break)
  • One Saturday shift, with the preceding Monday off
  • Coverage for vessel operations during one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Additional payment for weekend coverage
  • Salary starting from £26,000 (depending on experience)

The role:

  • Creating and managing electronic customer files using Boltrics/Dynamics
  • Preparing customs entries via Descartes, Destin8, CDS, and IPAFFS
  • Coordinating with local authorities and generating discharge lists through internal systems/EDI
  • Organising cargo delivery with third-party hauliers
  • Communicating with customers, suppliers, and international offices
  • Handling supplier invoices and preparing quotations
  • Involvement in vessel operations, supporting port-side logistics and coordination

The candidate:

We are seeking a motivated individual who:

  • Has experience in import operations or a related field
  • Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Can work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Is proficient in using relevant software systems (e.g., Boltrics/Dynamics, Descartes) – preferred not essential
