Cogent Staffing are recruiting for Warehouse Operative/Pickers for our established automotive distribution client based in Cardiff CF24.
This is a temporary to permanent role, with successful candidates taken on as a permanent member of staff after a period of 12 qualifying weeks.
Role summary:
The Warehouse Operative and Delivery Driver is responsible for managing the storage and distribution of goods within a warehouse environment and ensuring timely delivery to customers. This dual role involves both logistical support and direct customer interaction.
Shifts & salary:
- Monday to Friday 00:00-08:00
- £14.04 per hour
- 1 hour unpaid break per shift
- 42 hour working week average
- Ongoing work with potential for a permanent role after 12 full weeks qualifying period
- To start as soon as possible.
Role details:
- Generating pick sheets
- Picking order loads from sheets
- Carrying out warehouse operations, packing orders, processing goods
- Operating Counterbalance FLT on site if licence held
- Unloading goods to the warehouse
- Using hand held scanners to pick orders
- Manual handling and heavy lifting of up to 30kg when required
- Carrying out delivery driving and drops
The candidate:
- This role requires both driving and warehouse duties.
- Must have no more than 6 points on driving licence
- Must be prepared to pick and load van daily
- Has previous warehouse experience
- Must be capable of lifting up to 30kg
- Comfortable with driving long distances following route navigation when needed
- Happy to work within the warehouse not majority driving
