Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leader within the online distribution sector, for a Customer Service Assistant – the role is temporary to permanent with successful applicants being offered a permanent contract after 12 qualifying weeks.


  • Ongoing, temporary to permanent opportunity
  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch break)
  • £13.73 per hour
  • 35 hours paid per week
  • Weekly pay

  • 28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)

The role:

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Answering inbound calls and supporting customers with their queries and quickly and efficiently resolving any issues
  • Dealing with email queries from customers
  • Liasing with customers via our website live chat
  • Being proactive in helping customers with order and delivery issues
  • Liasing with 3rd party couriers
  • Liasing with our warehouse and manufacturers regarding order queries
  • Empathise and action any customer complaints

The candidate:

  • Have a least one years experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Be dedicated to delivering excellent customer care
  • Have the ability to multi-task and communicate with a wide range of customers by telephone, email and live chat
  • Have a clear, professional and confident phone manner
  • Be exceptionally organised with a high attention to detail
  • Be confident in resolving queries quickly and efficiently
  • Demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for customer care
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office
