Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our Leeds based manufacturing client for a Trainee Machine Operator to join their team. This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to take previous manufacturing/machine operating experience and progress with upskilling. A temporary to permanent opportunity for the right individual, with training taking a minimum of 12 weeks.
Salary/shift:
- Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00 Friday 08:00-16:00 (daytime hours)
- Monday to Thursday 17:00-05:00 Friday 17:00-00:00 midnight (nighttime hours)
- £11.44 per hour standard pay rate (days) with higher pay once trained
- £15.25 per hour pay rate (nights)
- 12 hour day shifts required during peak periods
- Weekend work required during peak periods
- Overtime paid on all hours over 39 hours per week
- Higher night pay
- Higher weekend pay
- Double pay on bank holidays
- Weekly pay
- Temporary to permanent opportunity
The role:
- To support the Supervisor in the running and checking of the machines
- Working within the warehouse
- Carrying out work within logistics, goods in and goods out
- Able to work days, weekends and nights when required
- Start up and shut down machinery
- Monitor and adjust furnace control panel as and when required
- Communicate & liaise with R & D engineers & manager
- Ensure production targets are reached & record average stats and totals produced
- General fault finding and troubleshooting
- Packing, wrapping and stacking pallets
The candidate:
- Has suitable experience or a background in warehouse or machine operations
- Good health and safety ethic
- Hard working and reliable
- Basic computer literacy, excel, internal software systems for data logging.
- Full training will be given
