Cogent Staffing
Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our client, a metalwork fabrication company and specialist in architectural metalwork. This role is a temporary to permanent opportunity, working both on site and away from home (in the UK and abroad – mostly central Europe).
Salary/package:
- Salary range dependant on shop work, UK site work and possible EU site work
- Basic shop rate £14 per hour, weekday overtime 1.5 x, weekend overtime up to £28 per hour (double time rate)
- Ongoing temporary work for minimum 1 month with possible permanent work for the right candidate
Hours/shift requirements:
Standard/shop hours
- Monday to Thursday (days – 8 hours)
- Friday (day – 7 hours)
- Start/finish times to vary, core hours 08:00-16:00 (overtime 07:00 start)
- Night shifts on occasion, but rarely
- Overtime occasionally available on Saturday, very rarely on Sunday
- All overtime paid at a premium rate
UK and EU work
- Days or nights required
- Could be 6 or 7 days, up to 12 hours per shift
- Very competitive pay for all UK/EU work
The role:
- MIG and STICK welding
- Reading and working to drawings
- Site measuring and preparing of all details
- Material call offs
- Preparation of cutting lists
- Assembly and welding fabrications (MIG acc EN 1090 and STICK)
- Installations
- Working mostly with mild steel, some stainless steel and aluminium
- Operating guillotines, punches, drills, saws, rollers and other metalworking machinery
- Working according to ISO 9001, EN1090 (UKCA marking) standards
- Upholding company health and safety policies and systems
The candidate:
- Must have a full driving license
- Is flexible with working hours and has a willingness to work away from home
- Is conscientious and hardworking
- Can work both as part of a team and on own initiative
- CSCS/CCNSG card holder would be an advantage
- Is familiar with all types of general fabrication equipment
- Can and has proven experience MIG and STICK welding (TIG would be an advantage but not essential)
- Ideally has experience working according to ISO 9001 and EN 1090 standards
