Assembly Operative

Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our Elland based client for Assembly Operatives on a temporary to permanent basis. It is essential you are reliable, punctual and hardworking in order to be considered for a permanent role following a 12 week qualifying period.

Hours of work/salary:

• Working days Monday to Friday
• 30 mins unpaid break per shift
• 37.5 hours per week
• £12.21 basic pay rate
• Higher rate paid for overtime hours worked within a week
• Temporary to permanent assignments

The role:

• Heavy lifting and assembly of products
• Finishing products to correct specification and company/customer standard
• Working with others in the team to prioritise jobs and manage deadlines
• Liaising with other departments i.e. warehouse/dispatch & machine shop
• Operating hand and power tools
• Quality checking products as they come on to and leave your bench
• Being receptive and engaged with ongoing development to learn to operate more machines, tools

The candidate:

• Must be looking for a full time permanent role
• Physically fit to complete the manual parts of the role
• Has a good eye for detail
• Is invested in doing the job well and making a difference within the company
• Is ideally looking to develop within the role and take on more responsibility with training (not essential but desired)
• Reliable, hardworking, punctual
• Able to commute to site for shifts needed
• Open to overtime when needed and depending on availability
