CNC Turner (Sliding Head)

Cogent Staffing are looking for skilled CNC Turners/Setters (Sliding Head) to join our manufacturing client based in Leeds. In this role, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC multi-axis sliding head machines, ensuring efficient production to meet high-quality standards.

Work Details & Salary

• £16 – £18 per hour DOE
• 39 hours per week
• Monday to Thursday, 08:00 – 17:00; Friday, 08:00 – 13:00

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC multi-axis sliding head Star machinery.
• Manage the operation of CNC machinery, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
• Utilise excellent tooling knowledge to optimize cutting strategies for high-volume production.
• Pay high attention to detail to ensure conformity to specifications and maintain high standards of health and safety (H&S) and quality.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings to produce conforming parts from various materials, including exotic grade alloys.
• Ensure proper tooling selection and work holding, adhering to best practices in cutting strategies.
• Communicate effectively at all levels to support and contribute to a successful team environment.

Key Requirements

• Previous experience with CNC Sliding Head machinery.
• Ideally holds a relevant qualification.
• Proficient in programming using Fanuc controls.
• Experience with multi-axis turning centers, particularly sliding head machines.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and the ability to deliver precise, high-tolerance parts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
