Shift Supervisor

Cogent Staffing is excited to announce an opening for a Shift Manager with our Elland based client. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Shift Manager eager to contribute to a dynamic and thriving team.

Shift/salary:

• 14:00-22:00 or 22:00-06:00 shift available
• 14:00-22:00 Monday to Friday
• 22:00-06:00 Sunday to Thursday
• £30,000-£35,000 depending on experience/shift allowance
• Immediate start available following interview
• Permanent job

Responsibilities:

• Design and document shift patterns; prepare for each shift through briefings and site inspections.
• Organize production flow, assign job roles, and manage traffic on site.
• Oversee the offloading and loading of vehicles as per the traffic management plan.
• Prepare the facility to receive current, new, and anticipated material volumes.
• Support general maintenance tasks.
• Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with permit requirements.
• Uphold high standards of production discipline and compliance with company regulations, including working hours, health and safety, and site permitting.
• Monitor productivity and meet key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Develop staff performance through training, coaching, and support.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven experience in team management, preferably in the waste recycling sector.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to work.
• WAMITAB Level 4 (CoTC – Certificate of Technical Competence) in hazardous waste treatment/transfer is a plus but not mandatory.
