Timber Yard Operative with FLT

Salary: £13.00 per hour

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (may extend to 4:30 PM or 5:00 PM depending on workload)
• Saturdays: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (expected to work 3 out of 4 Saturdays, depending on staff availability and holidays)

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload timber products using forklifts or manually.
• Organize and maintain a tidy and safe yard environment.
• Assist customers with order collection and provide excellent service.
• Cut and prepare timber to customer specifications as required.
• Conduct stock checks and report shortages or damages.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Assist with deliveries and distribution of timber products.
• Carry out general maintenance and housekeeping duties within the yard.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar role (preferred but not essential).
• Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) License.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good physical fitness, as heavy lifting is involved.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Basic knowledge of timber products (desirable but not essential).
