- Design and execute strategic procurement plans for advanced components, prioritising value, reliability, and risk management.
- Drive the adoption of digital tools (ERP, PLM, e-sourcing platforms) to improve visibility, efficiency, and compliance across procurement activities.
- Lead and develop a team of Buyers and Purchase Administrators, setting clear objectives and coaching for continuous improvement.
- Navigate contract law and supplier audits to manage complex supplier agreements and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to align sourcing with roadmaps and production needs.
- Deliver cost-saving initiatives and supplier development programmes while monitoring performance metrics.
- Utilise ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and other procurement tech to inform sourcing decisions and track supplier performance.
- Ensure procurement supports new product introductions and BOM/Routing updates.
- Lead risk assessments and mitigation plans to safeguard supply continuity and supplier diversity.
- Report procurement performance, savings, and supplier risk to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of ethical procurement, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- 5+ years in hands-on procurement within a high-tech or advanced manufacturing environment; experience leading a team is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of contract law, supplier audits, and managing complex contracts.
- Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; CIPS certification preferred.
- Proficient with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and familiarity with digital tools (PLM, e-sourcing).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and strategic commercial judgement skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with robust stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated leadership, organisation, and a track record of driving continuous improvement.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing setting and collaborating across functions.
