We are recruiting for a Procurement Analyst, where you will support the Procurement Development Manager and our council in achieving key objectives. Your primary responsibility will be to collate, validate, and analyze commercial and procurement data, providing high-quality management information and recommendations.

You will ensure that data is relevant, up-to-date, and accurate while assisting in the development of effective management systems. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in research related to procurement initiatives and trends!

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop systems and internal databases to capture high-quality data.
  • Collate, validate, and analyze a full spectrum of commercial and procurement data to provide robust baseline information.
  • Provide support for procurement systems, including data input and maintenance.
  • Respond to internal customer procurement requests.
  • Develop performance reports and manipulate data to provide comprehensive management information.
  • Work with the Procurement Systems Lead to ensure effective data provision from all sources.
  • Assist in providing and analyzing statistical information to inform procurement strategies.
  • Monitor departmental compliance in procurement activities, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Identify inefficiencies in spending and provide innovative procurement solutions for value maximization.
  • Stay updated on procurement trends, systems, and methods, providing insights to the commercial and procurement unit.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports on procurement activities for the community.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with council users and stakeholder groups.
  • Manage and train assigned staff, ensuring effective service delivery.
  • Act in accordance with all council policies and procedures, including health and safety and equal opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in data analysis and procurement processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and engage with various stakeholders.
