Delivery Driver/Warehouse Operative

Cogent Staffing are recruiting for Warehouse Operative/Delivery Drivers for our established automotive distribution client based in Cardiff.

This is a temporary to permanent role, with successful candidates taken on as a permanent member of staff after a period of 12 qualifying weeks.

Shifts & salary:

• Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30
• Alternating Saturday mornings 08:30 – 12:30 (non negotiable)
• £12.21 per hour
• 1 hour unpaid break per shift
• 42 hour working week average
• Ongoing work with potential for a permanent role after 12 full weeks qualifying period

Role details:

• MAINLY WAREHOUSE NOT A LOT OF DRIVING ONLY AS NEEDED
• Generating pick sheets
• Picking order loads from sheets
• Carrying out warehouse operations, packing orders, processing goods
• Using hand held scanners to pick orders
• Manual handling and heavy lifting of up to 30kg when required
• Driving to regular customers if required with around 10-12 drops per run

The candidate:

• This is predominantly a warehouse role not driving, driving duties will only be in the event you need to cover a Driver who is absent etc. or during peak periods however, it is essential you have the licence as things can change and more driving may be needed
• Must have no more than 6 points on driving licence
• Must be prepared to pick and load van daily
• Has previous warehouse experience
• Must be capable of lifting up to 30kg
• Comfortable with driving long distances following route navigation when needed
• Happy to work within the warehouse not majority driving
