Yard Operative / Forklift Driver

As a Yard Operative/FLT Driver in a timber yard, your primary responsibilities will include the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of timber products. You will be instrumental in maintaining a safe and organized yard environment while ensuring that all operations run smoothly.

Shift/salary:

• Monday to Friday
• 07:30-17:00
• £12.21 per hour
• Ongoing, temporary to permanent opportunity
• Working Saturdays when needed (overtime rate £18.32)
• Immediate start for the right person

The role:

• Loading and unloading items to site safely
• Operating FLT
• Maintaining the yard making sure inventory is accurate and products are stored properly
• Quality checking products and reporting any issues
• Helping customers with products, providing advice or info on products
• Upholding site health and safety rules

The candidate:

• Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment is preferred but not essential
• Forklift license
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
