Welder

Cogent Staffing are recruiting for Welders for our client based in Todmorden. The ideal candidate must have previous welding experience with MIG and TIG, as well as any other fabrication experience.

Shifts & salary:

• Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.30pm, 3.30pm finish on Fridays
• £15 to £16.50 an hour DOE
• Temp to perm role, full time hours

Duties

• Utilise various welding methods (MIG, TIG) to join metal components, ensuring strong and precise welds according to specifications.
• Working primarily with mild steel, as well as stainless and aluminium.
• Working with light sheet metal.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately fabricate and assemble metal structures and components.
• Perform regular inspections of welds and materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and quality control procedures.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools, performing routine checks and repairs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Work closely with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks, improve processes, and meet production deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a welding role, with MIG or TIG, and ideally with light sheet metal.
• Working with mild steel, stainless and aluminium.
• Ideally previously experienced with light and thin gauge sheet metal.
• Previous fabrication and metalworking experience.
• Ideally local to Todmorden.
• Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
