- Review and assess the current multi-platform technology landscape
- Design scalable integration architecture across acquired businesses
- Lead API strategy and system interoperability
- Improve resilience, security and scalability across platforms
- Design and implement a centralised data architecture (data warehouse / lake strategy)
- Establish data governance, structure and reporting standards
- Work closely with stakeholders to improve data visibility and quality
- Support BI implementation and analytics capability
- Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies (pricing, forecasting, document automation, workflow automation, etc.)
- Introduce intelligent reporting and predictive analytics
- Evaluate and deploy appropriate AI tools where commercially beneficial
- Work closely with the CTO on technical roadmap planning
- Collaborate with internal developers and third-party vendors
- Support technical due diligence during acquisitions
- Contribute hands-on where required (architecture design, technical problem solving, solution oversight)
- Strong experience in data architecture, systems architecture, or enterprise integration
- Experience working across multiple business systems (CRM, web platforms, finance systems, operational tools)
- Proven experience delivering data consolidation or integration projects
- Experience implementing AI or automation solutions in a commercial setting
- Solid understanding of:
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
- API-led integrations
- Data warehousing & ETL pipelines
- Frontend and backend web environments
- BI and reporting tools
- Comfortable operating in acquisitive or complex system environments
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain
- Exposure to M&A system integration
- Experience working in scaling or mid-sized businesses
- Background in data engineering or software development

The Role
We are working with a growing logistics and freight-forwarding group that has expanded through acquisition, resulting in a diverse technology landscape including multiple CRMs, web platforms, operational systems and reporting tools.
The CTO is seeking a highly experienced and commercially aware technologist to work closely alongside him to rationalise, integrate and modernise the company’s systems and data infrastructure.
This is a senior, hands-on architecture role — ideal for someone who combines strong data expertise, systems thinking, and practical AI implementation experience.
