We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join our Maintenance Department at our busy carpet manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our production equipment.

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the factory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production issues.
  • Assist with machinery installations, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing equipment reliability and production efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to achieve operational targets.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, or similar engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within an industrial setting.
  • Flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent) desirable.
