We are currently recruiting for an experienced FLT/Yard Operative to join a busy and well-established manufacturing/production environment on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a varied role, ideal for someone who is confident operating FLT equipment safely in small or restricted spaces, while handling high-value machinery, materials, raw materials, finished products and scrap metal. The successful candidate must have excellent attention to detail, a strong safety mindset and a reliable approach to work.

Shift/salary & package:

  • Temp-to-perm opportunity
  • Monday to Friday day shift
  • Early finish every Friday
  • £13.50 per hour starting rate
  • Once permanent, £40 weekly attendance bonus, equivalent to approximately £14.50 per hour
  • Training provided on overhead crane use
  • Varied role within a busy yard and production environment
  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00–17:00
  • Friday: 08:00–15:00

The role:

  • Operating Flexi and/or Counterbalance FLT safely and efficiently
  • Manoeuvring materials and valuable machinery in tight or restricted spaces
  • Yard work, including movement and organisation of raw materials, finished products and scrap metal
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Goods-in duties and load checking
  • Counting deliveries and checking against goods-in notes
  • Completing relevant paperwork accurately
  • Carrying out quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods
  • Supplying materials to machinery and production lines
  • Supporting production and yard teams as required
  • Training will be provided on the overhead crane to move materials around site safely

The candidate:

  • Must hold a valid Counterbalance FLT licence
  • Flexi FLT experience/licence would be highly advantageous
  • Previous yard, warehouse, manufacturing or production experience preferred
  • Confident operating FLTs in small spaces
  • Comfortable handling valuable or heavy materials with care
  • Good attention to detail for paperwork, quality checks and goods-in processes
  • Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to be trained on overhead crane operations
