Production Operative

Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing business, for a Production Operative to join their growing team based in Halifax.

Shift/package:

Working Hours

Initial Shift (Monday–Friday):
07:30am – 4:00pm (40 paid hours per week)

Following successful completion of the 12-week probation period, you may move onto a rotating weekly shift pattern:

• Early: 6:00am – 2:30pm
• Late: 2:00pm – 10:30pm

Overtime is available after probation.

Pay & Benefits

• £13.50 per hour for the initial 12-week period
• £15.61 per hour upon receiving a permanent contract
• £17.60 per hour when working rotating shifts
• Overtime paid at time and three-quarters
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays (pro-rata in first year)
• 5% contributory pension scheme (after probation)

• Temp to perm opportunity (earlier permanent contract may be considered for the right candidate)

Full training will be provided across all aspects of the production process.

The role:

• Operating industrial presses and moulding equipment
• Working with rubber materials and associated chemicals
• Using hand tools and precision measuring equipment (vernier gauges, tape measures)
• Following production specifications and quality standards
• Completing basic computer-based documentation
• Working both independently and as part of a team

The candidate:

• Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to use hand tools and measuring equipment
• Strong work ethic and solid employment history

Desirable (not essential):

• Experience working with chemicals and large-scale industrial machinery
• Current FLT Counterbalance licence
