Cogent Staffing are recruiting on behalf of our Wimbledon based client for a Senior Management Account with experience working in the manufacturing sector.
- Hybrid working (3 days per week on site)
- Hours: Full time 37.5 hours / Permanent
- £60,000 per annum
Role and Responsibilities
The Senior Management Accountant will be assisted by a team of 4 accounts staff, two of which are located in Ireland. He/she will report to and provide support to the Financial Controller in the following areas:
- Support with the preparation of monthly management accounts and consolidation of the UK and Irish operations
- Oversee monthly reconciliations of key balance sheet items and stock counts
- Weekly and monthly reporting to the US parent company
- Assist in monitoring the operational performance through providing detailed operational analysis
- Support budget and forecasting activities
- Support the implementation and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting systems and processes
- Assistance with ad-hoc financial modelling as required
- Preparation and submission of statutory returns including VAT in UK and Ireland
- Control the accuracy of standing data in the ERP system including BOMS and standard costs.
- Monitor and control working capital including debtor collection, payment of UK and
- Irish suppliers
- Capable of assisting in other areas such as pricing and production planning
- Mentor and develop junior accounting staff
- Assist in the annual audit and involvement in any other ad-hoc reporting as required
Experience and qualifications
A qualified accountant (preferably CIMA) with experience in manufacturing. The individual is likely to have had several year’s experience in manufacturing post qualification. Other key skills are:
- Advance Excel skills
- Knowledge and experience of using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment
- Ability in SQL would be an advantage
- Organised and able to work to tight deadlines
